JAPANESE MAN SLEEPS 30 MINUTES A DAY FOR 12 YEARS
Daisuke Hori, 40, a resident of Hyogo prefecture in western Japan, claims that he has conditioned his body and mind to function normally with little sleep and never feels tired. Japanese man sleeps 30 minutes a day for 12 years and still he is very fit and intelligent.
Hori is a business visionary, who loves music, painting, and mechanical planning. Twelve years ago, he began reducing the amount of sleep he got to increase the number of active hours in his day.
As a result, he was able to get only 30 to 45 minutes of sleep per day. He said, “You can avoid drowsiness as long as you do sports or drink coffee an hour before eating.”
In 2016, Hori established the Japan Short Sleepers Preparing Affiliation, where he directs classes on rest and well-being.
“High-quality sleep is better for people who need to focus on their work for a long time than long sleep. Doctors and firefighters, for instance, have shorter rest periods while maintaining high efficiency,” he stated.
In a reality show titled “Will You Go with Me?” which aired in Japan, Yomiuri TV followed Hori for three days.
Right from the start, Hori dozed for only 26 minutes and awakened normally, ready to go. He went to work after breakfast and squeezed in a workout at the gym.
Hori’s website continues to say he has trained more than 2,100 understudies to become super short sleepers.
According to Yomiuri TV, one of them cut back on sleep after training, going from eight hours to just 90 minutes, and has done so for four years while maintaining excellent skin and mental health.
