Salmond, who led the Scottish National Party from 1990 to 2000 and then from 2004 to 2014, is a leading figure in national politics.
He used his second term as First Minister to call for a Scottish independence referendum in 2014.
The “Yes to Scotland” campaign failed and he resigned. Scottish Labor leader Anas Sarwar was among the first to pay tribute to the former first minister.
So today here at Observer Time we will discuss and observe the news of Alex Salmond’s death.
ALEX SALMOND DEATH
In a statement shared on the social network X, he wrote: “The tragic news of Alex Salmond’s death today will shock everyone who knew him in Scotland, common in the UK and beyond.
“Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this difficult time, and on behalf of the Scottish Labor Party, we offer our condolences to all those who mourn his loss. The country cannot be praised.”
“We should pay tribute to Alex’s service to our country as First Minister and to the communities he has built as an MP and MSP,” said former Scottish leader Douglas Ross Conservatives, wrote: “Alex Salmond has had a huge impact on the Northeast and the country.
He was a prominent figure in Scottish politics who held office for many years.
“My thoughts go out to Moira and her family and friends at this difficult time.”
